It’s June, and summer has finally arrived. Summer marks the season of BBQs, camping, swimming, and endless other outdoor activities. Not only is June the start of summer, but it is also the end of the school year and beginning of a well-earned break for students and teachers across the country. Teachers have worked tirelessly throughout the school year to provide an enriching learning experience for their students, and we at The Watershed Project feel it is only fitting to express our gratitude to all the teachers and partners we have worked with this school year.

Thank you for your collaboration! It has been such a pleasure to work with each and every one of our wonderful teachers and partners this year. From participating in teacher trainings to coordinating lessons, field trips, and action days, The Watershed Project’s education team has been fortunate and grateful to be able to work closely with teachers and partner organizations such as San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) and Point Reyes National Shoreline Association (PRNSA) to develop meaningful programs and and unique field trips to students around the bay area. TWP’s programs would not be possible without these partnerships, and we are truly appreciative. Additionally, teachers have provided thoughtful feedback and expertise that have elevated our programs and projects this year. This teamwork has resulted in impactful experiences for both students and adults alike.

Thank you for your dedication! Coming out of a global pandemic for teachers has meant adjusting the way you teach and trying to get students caught up on the years of both academic and social-emotional development that they may have missed. Thank you to all the teachers we worked with this year who are dedicated to providing new experiences for their students that they may have missed out on the past couple of years. Your devotion to your students’ growth and opportunities has led to them being able to develop a passion for science and experience nature in new ways. Your commitment to your students has not gone unnoticed, and TWP would like to personally thank you for this dedication.

And finally…thank you for making learning FUN! You have truly brought the joy-factor to each and every one of your students. During the lessons and field trips that TWP has led, we have witnessed the joy and respect your students have for you all, and it is remarkable. Thank you for sharing your time and spaces with TWP, allowing us to share fun design challenges and projects with your students. Your students’ curiosity and engagement are a testament to each of you creating a classroom culture that establishes a love of learning. TWP looks forward to continuing to partner with such collaborative, dedicated, joyful teachers for years to come. Have a fantastic summer, and thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
