Teacher Workshop: Watershed Education in our Urban Ecosystem

The Watershed Project's education team is giving a virtual workshop for teachers in partnership with Community Resources for Science! Our Ecosystem, Our Community: Greening Urban Watersheds is a hands-on, flexible middle school curriculum. Students explore biodiversity and interdependence in their own urban ecosystem, test green infrastructure models, and create pollinator habitat. Wildcat Creek Cleanup Day 1

The Watershed Project is conducting a trash assessment in Wildcat Creek in North Richmond! A trash assessment is a type of cleanup that includes measuring the amount and type of trash in a given area. We will need extra hands to help remove trash from the creek--volunteers should be physically able to navigate uneven, sloped terrain and lift and carry objects. Working Towards Racial Equity Workshop Series

August 23 - December 2

The Watershed Project is participating in the Working Towards Racial Equity workshop series organized by the Lawrence Hall of Science and Justice Outside. This 2-year series is designed to support environmental and outdoor science organizations to build capacity to foster equitable, inclusive, and culturally relevant work environments and organizations. We will participate in a 5-month intensive workshop series between August and December 2021, and receive ongoing support for an additional 19 months as we work toward specific racial equity goals.…
