MLK Day of Service on the Richmond Greenway
January 17 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
This event has reached maximum capacity – thank you to our volunteers! Please check back on our events page for additional volunteer opportunities in the coming months.
The Watershed Project invites you to be a part of this annual festive and inspirational event!
From 10am – 12pm, help us maintain and beautify our bioswale site at 18th St and Ohio Ave near Unity Park. We will provide gloves, tools, and water. Please bring your own reusable water bottle if possible. Wear sturdy closed-toed shoes and clothes that can get dirty. To ensure the safety of everyone, please wear a mask at all times during the event. Parking is limited: we recommend parking on 20th St. near the Greenway and walking along it to 18th St.
From 12pm – 2pm, stop by our table at Unity Park to learn about the Richmond Wellness Trail, a new, safe bike/pedestrian trail connecting downtown Richmond to the Richmond shoreline. Snacks and coffee will be provided!
Space is limited to 25. To participate, all participants must sign a waiver. Children are welcome, but MUST be accompanied by an adult and those under 18 require a waiver signed by a legal guardian. Valid for Community Service hours. Heavy rain cancels, but we will be out there in the sun, fog, and light drizzle. If it is rainy, it is a great opportunity to see our low impact design (bioswales and rain gardens) in action!
For more information, contact Eunice Quintanilla (Q for short): firstname.lastname@example.org or 707-726-2829.
We look forward to seeing you on the Richmond Greenway!
