Please join The Watershed Project in our garden and enjoy being out in nature on the Richmond Greenway at Carlson Meadow for our monthly Second Saturday event. We plant and tend to unique Low Impact Design projects that not only construct beautiful native habitat gardens, but also filter pollutants out of the stormwater.
Our Second Saturday activities might include
-Planting in our Habitat Garden, Bioswale, Native Grassland, or Rain Garden
-Tree planting
-Removal of invasive plants
-Mulching to protect soil
-Propagation
-Tending to native plants
-And more!
Tools, gloves, water and snacks will be provided. Please bring a reusable water bottle. Wear sturdy shoes and prepare to get dirty. Long sleeves and pants can be helpful when dealing with some weeds, but it can get warm, so dress in layers.
The event will continue rain or shine; if it is raining, we can see the rain garden and bioswale in action!
Students are welcome to do community service and if under 18, please email us for a waiver as parent permission is required.
Meet us at 10am at Carlson Meadow on the Richmond Greenway at Carlson and Ohio.
We can also schedule weekday opportunities for groups of 10 or more. Contact Sharon (sharon@thewatershedproject.org) for more information.
Please join us for a fun day on the Greenway!
