Have you ever wanted to be a part of designing a piece of public art? Now is your chance! Join The Watershed Project as we design and paint our water themed mural on the Richmond Greenway above our rain garden and bioswale between 20 th and 21 st Streets. We’re looking for help, and even leaders, in both designing and painting the mural. The mural project will be led by local Richmond artist, Rebeca Garcia- Gonzalez, who just completed the new Unity Park mural, “Richmond Dances and Grows.” We’ll work with Rebeca through all the steps from design to completion of painting. You don’t have to be “artistic” to participate, but we request that children are ages 10 and up. We are hoping to recruit residents of Richmond in particular for this project. Students can earn a small stipend for participation and community service hours.
Join us for our collaborative design meeting on Saturday, April 28th, from 10am – 1pm as volunteers, The Watershed Project, and Rebeca design the mural!
Please contact sharon@thewatershedproject.org if you’re interested in participating or with any questions.
