A Day in the Richmond Parks

Love Your Bioswale for Baxter Creek – REGISTER 

9:30 am – 12:00 pm @ Booker T. Anderson Community Center Parking lot

Join us for an informative and fun event to learn about the Bioswale next to Baxter Creek in Booker T. Anderson Community Center parking lot!

 

Find out how a Bioswale functions to protect our watershed. After learning about the Bioswale, we will maintain the Bioswale together in preparation for the rainy season!

 

Where:     Booker T. Anderson Community Center Parking lot

Address: 960 S 47th St, Richmond, CA 94804

Parking:   The parking lot has enough space to park your car.

 

*Tools, gloves, water and snacks/light meals will be provided.

*Bring a reusable water bottle.

*Wear a hat and steady shoes and be prepared to get dirty!

This is a great event for community service hours or school groups. If under 18, parent/guardians’ permission is required, so please bring a signed waiver.

Habitat Garden & Ethnobotany Workshop -REGISTER

1:30 pm – 3:00 pm @ Shield-Reid Park

Join us for an outdoor workshop to learn from local experts on the benefits of habitat gardens and on plants that have cultural and ecological importance in our environment. Want to learn more about habitat gardens? Come to this workshop at Shields-Reid Park in Richmond!

 

This will also be a great opportunity to make an impact and take part in deciding what the future Habitat Garden, that will be part of the renovated Shields Reid Park, will look like!
