Where will you be this Earth Day? Come join The Watershed Project at our Earth Day festivities in North Richmond and Albany on Saturday April 2oth!

 

North Richmond Earth Day Cleanup 
Saturday April 20th, 2019, 9:00 am – 11:00 am
Wildcat Creek at Verde Elementary School, 2000 Giaramita St., Richmond

Celebrate Earth Day by helping clean our urban creeks! Join The Watershed Project and Contra Costa County in North Richmond, and help clean up Wildcat Creek at Verde Elementary School. Learn about local efforts to protect our SF Bay watersheds and wildlife, and reduce plastic in our waterways!

FREE refreshments will be provided as you work hard to clean up our environment! We will supply tools and gloves, but if you have your own pair of gloves and a bucket, please bring them to reduce our use of disposable items. Wear sturdy shoes, a hat and sunscreen, and bring your own reusable water bottle if you have one.

Children must be accompanied by an adult. Minors under 18 require waiver signed by parent or legal guardian. Groups of 10 or more should pre-register; see contact information below for questions about pre-registration or waivers. Print and sign your waiver at home for faster registration.

North Richmond Earth Day Celebration
Saturday April 20th, 2019, 11am – 2pm
Shields-Reid Park and Community Center, 1410 Kelsey Street, Richmond

After the creek cleanup, continue to celebrate the Earth at the North Richmond Earth Day Celebration. Join over 30 community booths for a festival afternoon, including food, a petting zoo, jumper, live performances, kids activities and more! The Watershed Project will be hosting fun and educational watershed activities for kids of all ages as we join in the celebrations.

This event is sponsored by The Watershed Project in partnership with the North Richmond Earth Day CelebrationCommunity Housing Development Corporation and other community partners.

Albany Earth Day Shoreline Cleanup
Saturday April 20th, 2019, 9:00 am – 12 pm
Albany Beach, at the foot of Buchanan Street, Albany

Enjoy the beautiful shoreline while joining hundreds of community volunteers as we clean the Albany Bulb shoreline! This fun festive event is an annual tradition and not to be missed. Learn about local efforts to protect our SF Bay watersheds and wildlife by reducing plastic in the ocean, and creating resilient and living shorelines.

Everyone is welcome! We will have a prize for the most unusual item found during the cleanup. Gloves and buckets provided, but please bring your own if possible to reduce disposable items. Wear sturdy shoes, a hat and sunscreen, and bring your own reusable water bottle if you have one. We request that dogs be kept on a leash on the beach and in the registration area. This event is sponsored by the City of Albany, in cooperation with the East Bay Regional Parks District.
